Olamide Ogunade is a Nigerian visual artist whose genre of art is contemporary. He was born on the 6th of January 1996. He hails from Ogun State but lives in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He is passionate about art in general, hence his involvement in artistic things like acting, dancing and drumming which reflects in his works.
Olamide noticed his ability to draw at the age of six using any writing material. He found it interesting as he grew older and decided to develop himself by making research and practising all by himself. He never had a formal knowledge of art until he gained admission, making the merit list to study FINE ART at Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, (2018/19).
Olamide gets inspiration from the happenings in his society. He expresses himself using any medium like ballpoint pen, oil paint, charcoal, acrylic paint or pencil based on the concept at that given point in time. His kind of art takes a lot of time as it requires patience and persistence; making a mere shading come to life, it's almost impossible to believe it was created by hand.
Olamide has exhibited in several group exhibitions in Lagos and Ogun state, Nigeria. In 2018, his works were exhibited, among other artists' works, in Luxembourg at the Afrika First Exhibition, Valerius art gallery. In 2021 his works were exhibited at the exhibiting art at the Stop, Listen Group Exhibition CFHILL gallery, Sweden. Some of his works were bought and taken to different countries like Burkina Faso, Austria, USA, Germany, France and Sweden.
